This day will be useful for all levels of trainees wanting to gain experience and knowledge in maternal medicine and will cover topics such as:
- Managmeent of acquired Cardiac Disease in pregnancy
- Management of Malaria in pregnancy
- Management of Hepatitis in pregnancy
- Sickle cell anaemia and pregnancy
- Managment of Gynaecological Cancers in resource poor areas
Many speakers lined up including specialists from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and a lead Gynaecologist in London.
The study day will be followed in the evening by an African Themed Party in which trainees and their partners/friends will be able to taste african food, take part in a raffle and auction and dance the night away.
This project aims to raise money for the Mbarara Links Programme to enable our senior Ugandan colleagues to visit our hospitals in Bristol and gain extra training in Obstetric and Gynaecological Skills.
