This innovative course has been designed for:
- ST6-7 with an interest in Laparoscopic Gynaecology Surgery
- New Consultants who wish to set up a Laparoscopic service
- Consultants undertaking LAVH who wish to extend their practice
- Theatre personnel who assist in Laparoscopic Gynaecology surgery
This intensive 2 day (2 centre) course comprises a Masterclass on day 1 involving live theatre demos and interactive discussion with expert faculty, followed by an optional skills rehearsal on fresh frozen human cadavers on day 2. The aim of the course is to enable delegates to become familiar with the principles of total laparoscopic hysterectomy and the related operative anatomy and techniques.
The course will include:
- Hands on training for total laparoscopic hysterectomy techniques
- Expert faculty of experienced laparoscopic gynaecology surgeons
- Live expert demonstration of total laparoscopic hysterectomy
- Advice/guidance for patient/procedure selection, risk management and discussion on difference techniques employed.
- Laparoscopic surfing practice using conventional and barbed sutures
- Use of virtual reality simulators for total laparoscopic hysterectomy
